Alex Buckner Short Game Academy

The Alex Buckner Short Game Academy at Brocket Hall

Brocket Hall Golf & Country Club is delighted to announce an exciting new partnership with DP World and PGA Tour coach Alex Buckner – the short game specialist who helped guide Marco Penge to three Tour wins last season, setting the stage for an exciting year ahead on the PGA Tour.

Meet Alex Buckner

Brocket Hall is proud to welcome DP World & PGA Tour coach Alex Buckner – a specialist coach, consultant and educator who works with golfers at every level, from committed amateurs to tour professionals.

Alex is known for building scoring-focused short game systems that translate into lower scores on the course. A Titleist, Peter Millar and FootJoy ambassador, he supports amateur golfers while also working with athletes across the PGA Tour, DP World Tour, Ladies European Tour and Challenge Tour.

Alex’s coaching and consulting has contributed to multiple tour victories in recent seasons – including as swing coach to Marco Penge, who won three times on the DP World Tour in 2025 (China, Denmark and Spain), alongside consulting support to DP World Tour winners including Grant Forrest, Richard Mansell and Daniel Hillier.

The Alex Buckner Short Game Academy at Brocket Hall

This partnership will see the Alex Buckner Short Game Academy arrive at Brocket Hall – giving golfers the opportunity to train with proven, tour-level principles, in an environment designed specifically for scoring improvement.

Whether you want to sharpen your technique, improve your decision-making, or build a more effective practice structure, the Academy will offer a clear pathway to better wedge play and more confidence around the greens.

The Scoring Zone

Our newly upgraded 11,000 sq m USGA-spec short game area – “The Scoring Zone” will become an interactive practice experience.

Golfers will find information stations powered by Upgame scoring data, alongside specialist advice from Alex on a wide variety of wedge shots and scoring situations around the greens – helping you practise with purpose and measure your progress.

A new wedge facility for distance control

Alex has also consulted with us on the design of a bespoke, purpose-built 14,000 sq m wedge and short game facility, planned to replace the Palmerston course practice hole.

This unique new area will be dedicated to distance control with wedges up to 125 yards – creating a tour-style zone to dial in carry numbers, trajectory windows and landing patterns that directly impact scoring.
