Estate Housekeeping Assistant

The Purpose:

Ensuring that allocated areas, guest rooms, corridors, cleaning cupboards and stores are kept to the highest standards of cleanliness and are well maintained as per the departmental standards

The Role:

Routine thorough cleaning of allocated area including but not limited to: Main Hall, Melbourne Lodge, (bedrooms, bathrooms, corridors) Golf Club, Admin Offices, Staff Accommodation, Auberge du Lac, Halfway Houses, Palmerston Lounge) including all fittings and surfaces to the required standard.

  • Carry out all reasonable Guest and special requests as instructed by the Supervisor.
  • Keeping the cleaning cupboards and stores tidy and correctly stacked.
  • To always behave in a professional and polite manner towards all guests.
  • To carry out spring cleaning duties as directed by the Supervisor.
  • To report any defects and maintenance issues to the Supervisor.
  • Report and hand in items of property found.
  • Ensure health & safety procedures are followed, including manual handling and COSHH.
  • To always ensure the smooth running of the department through effective teamwork.
  • To attend any department training and/or meetings when required.
  • Maintain effective communication within the department and ensure that the Supervisor is well informed of any problems/queries that have arisen.
  • To assist in the training and development of colleagues as and when required.
  • To assist in any way that may be necessary to ensure the efficiency and smooth running of the Estate Housekeeping department.

The Candidate:

  • Experience in 4–5 star hotel preferable.
  • Must be self-motivated and energetic.
  • Understand the importance of working as part of a team.
  • Well-presented personal appearance is required.
  • Ability to work to good standards in a pressurised environment.
  • Must have the desire to generate customer satisfaction.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Basic knowledge of COSHH preferable.
