One of the finest practice facilities in the South East
Located in a beautiful setting surrounded by mature woodland and the River Lea, The Melbourne Club Golf Academy is no ordinary facility. Much more than just a place to hit balls, the academy is a place where you can work with our team of instructors to fine tune any aspect of your game.
With numerous range mats, both exposed and under cover, and real grass areas to play from, the Academy is open for use all year round. Golfers can make use of a variety of putting greens, chipping greens, bunker areas and a long game driving range; we also have an indoor studio which is ideal for lessons on darker evenings, or if you wish to escape from the winter weather.
In addition to this, we have a stunning 7-hole par 3 course at The Melbourne Club Golf Academy, providing you with one of the best practice facilities not only in Hertfordshire, but possibly the UK. The Academy Practice Facilities can be used by all of our visitors playing under the three different golf packages.

Charlie has been associated with Brocket Hall since 2002, representing the club in both her amateur and LET professional career. After taking a step back from the sport to have a family, Charlie now returns to the club in 2023 as a coach.
Charlie’s amateur career highlights include winning the English Women’s Amateur in 2009- finishing that same season ranked as England’s number one female golfer, and 8th in Europe. Representing and captaining England internationally over 15 times, Charlie then turned professional in 2010- earning her full playing rights for the Ladies European Tour where she played for 3 years, achieving a career best finish of T5 at the Dinard Ladies Open. Following ongoing back trouble, Charlie was forced to end her playing career aged just 24, and subsequently turned her hand to broadcasting where she worked with the Sky Sports Golf commentary team.
Charlie is passionate about sharing her knowledge and experience to help golfers simplify a sport that can, at times, seem overwhelmingly complex and technical. She enjoys working with players of all ages and abilities to unlock their potential, achieve their goals, and play consistently better golf – whether that’s improving technique, course management or teaching new skills.
