Reports To:               Sales & Events Manager

Job Purpose
To promote Brocket Hall Estate to the Corporate and Private Business sectors. Maximise all sales and revenue opportunities by promoting the business effectively to achieve agreed annual sales targets across the Estate

Job Tasks

  • Assist with the development of the Estate Sales Plan, updating information and recording results on a monthly basis to ensure positive activities are repeated and unsuccessful activities are effectively evaluated and changed as appropriate;
  • In conjunction with the Sales & Events Manager develop and implement a detailed venue specific sales plan and targeted promotions for results oriented marketing/selling of the facilities in order to maximise profitability.
  • Attend monthly strategy meetings and contribute to the business decisions made to maximise the overall yield of the Estate, ensuring a thorough knowledge of the forecast and a through understanding of the business;
  • Prepare a report for discussion with the Sales & Events Manager on weekly sales activities, responsibilities and time scales, agreeing actions in line with targets;
  • Ensure that research is pro-actively completed developing new leads and conducting the correct level of research, ensuring the research findings are communicated where appropriate;
  • Personally conduct sales appointments when required, selecting those which have a high generation of sales revenue;
  • Liaise with marketing department to ensure a targeted programme of advertising is maintained to support any sales activities;
  • To perform 200 active telesales calls a month to obtain a minimum of 20 appointments a month to promote and present Brocket Hall Estate. Pro-active sales to include: Golf days, Conferences, Meetings, Events, Filming, Corporate entertainment, Dining and Membership;
  • Pro active account development within each specific region to ensure Brocket Hall’s market share is developed and increased. Specific focus on both Conference and Corporate sectors;
  • Attend weekly sales meetings chaired by Managing Director or Sales & Events Manager
  • Competitor Marketing Assessments to be completed monthly looking at all competitors across the sectors, with a focus on conference and golf markets;
  • Continue to develop the relationship with corporate agents;
  • Co-ordinate promotional mailings to existing Corporate and potential prospects;
  • Weekly sales activity to be reported to Sales & Events Manager with a copy to Managing Director. Forward book process to be communicated and tracked as required;
  • To submit a typed monthly report of all sales activities to Sales & Events Manager, with a copy to Managing Director, to include detailed results of:
    • Number of telesales calls made with any follow-up action;
    • External appointments made and resulting actions;
    • To record provisional business held, numbers, value, business area and follow-ups;
    • Record confirmed business across each venue (number of guests and revenue volumes);
    • Record lost/regret business, reasons why and actions to pick up in future, if possible;
  • Attend relevant exhibitions to promote the Estate, as required;
  • Prepare information/reports for the Managing Director, as may be required from time to time;

  • An excellent corporate network and an ability to bring in new business
  • A proven track record in Sales;
  • Establishing and managing partnerships with either fee-paying clients and or corporate organisations ;
  • A commitment to “make things happen” within a customer-focused environment;
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and face-to-face;
  • Effective negotiator and influencer with diplomacy;
  • An ability to write and deliver reports and presentations;
  • Excellent PC and application software skills, e.g. email, Microsoft Office, internet, etc.
  • Comfortable working flexible hours as required, and which will include weekend and evening commitments;
